Disaster Restoration Photo Album: Burst Pipe in Oxford, CT

An long-time existing client of ours was alerted one day that a pipe had burst in one of his commercial rental properties in Oxford, CT.  He immediately reached out to us to report the loss.  The Professional Restoration Systems team was onsite in under 60 minutes of the time the loss was reported.  We immediately began work on mitigating the water.     The property was finished with a vinyl plank flooring, acoustical ceiling tile and drywall.  Because this is a multi-unit building there was double layer dry which is required for fire stop between units.  Unfortunately, it is not possible to dry two layers of drywall that are sandwiched together.      Professional Restoration Systems began by extracting the water from the floor.  Next up, we addressed the affected building materials.  Double layer drywall was removed to a height of 2'.  The affected acoustical ceiling tiles were removed.  Vinyl plank flooring was removed so secondary extraction could take place.   After all affected areas were thoroughly extracted an application of anti-microbial was applied to the affected areas to inhibit mold growth.  Finally a traditional drying system was installed comprised of air movers and dehumidifiers to allow for more rapid evaporation of excess moisture in the property.     The Professional Restoration Systems team then followed up on the loss daily testing with specialized equipment to record and measure the level of moisture in the property.  Once moisture conditions were found to be within acceptable range, the Professional Restoration Systems team removed all drying equipment, performed a final cleaning and returned the dried property to the building owner.  All in this project took 3 days to complete.
